FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

By Angie Schlabach

Sarasota, FL Locally owned Alma Sue’s Quilt shop creates Row by Row to pay homage to the “Purple Cow” also known as the Van Wezel of Sarasota.  The Van Wezel (pronounced Van Wayzull), a local Landmark in Sarasota, presents a broad spectrum of the world's finest performers representing the diverse tastes of Southwest Florida residents and visitors.

This year's Row by Row is required to feature a musical theme to it. Alma Sue's Quilt Shop designed their Row to feature a Purple Cow with the Sarasota Ringling Bridge located behind it wrapped in musical notes. This Row by Row is an abstract version of these famous landmarks that make Sarasota so unique and memorable.

Each Summer thousands of Quilt Shops across the country create a Row by Row. The Row by Row Experience® began in 2011 with 20 quilt shops across New York State. Today thousands of stores in the US, Canada and Europe welcome travelers through their doors. Travelers collect row patterns, then create stunning quilts with those rows … and no two are alike! Although the quilt shops are organized by area, quilters have no borders. Travel, shop, collect patterns and add rows to your quilt from anywhere! Row by Row Sew Musical starts June 21, 2018.Stop in at Alma Sue’s Tuesday-Saturday to purchase your kit ($35) and create your “Purple Cow” Row on your Quilt today.

About Alma Sue’s Quilt Shop

Alma Sue’s Quilt Shop opened its doors in 2002 and is located in the Amish Community known as “Pinecraft” at 3737 Bahia Vista Street near Der Dutchman Restaurant. Many have discovered Alma Sue's Shop is a unique, "always quilting" store where quilters with years of experience practice their craft, right in the store. Visitors watch, ask questions, and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.

We make custom quilts, host quilting and sewing classes and special events and offer a large selection of quilts, kits, fabric, and supplies. Most days, quilts are being made as customers shop.
